SECA is a Virginia non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to help families and individuals in Spotsylvania County, Virginia with emergency needs without consideration of race, religious creed, or ethnic background.

Current services include:

  • Food and clothing (Please see SECA's list of "most wanted" donation items and items we cannot accept here)
  • Assistance with the payment of utility bills for electric, water, and gas to prevent disconnection or to restore service already terminated
  • Vouchers for home heating fuel costs (available November through March).
  • The SECA Thrift Store is open to the public and offers inexpensive clothing, books, and household items.

A referral is no longer required; clients may request assistance by calling or visiting the SECA location in Spotsylvania, Virginia. We are staffed by volunteers who are here by choice and sympathetic to the needs of our fellow county residents.

We coordinate and cooperate with the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the County of Spotsylvania, and various churches, schools, and other organizations.
